Here are some of my favorite suggestions for the smallest room in the house.
The great goal of spring cleaning, as I suggest in a previous post, is to have a tidy and attractive living space. A great help towards that goal is to think about adding a hamper to your bathroom. A gorgeous hamper turns laundry into an elegant undertaking. Personally, I am guilty of the hamper-hidden-in-the-closet approach to laundry but there is something to be said for a piece of furniture that is gorgeous enough to leave out for all to admire.
One of my favorite ways to spice up the interior décor of any space is to add humor. A perfect place for something a little out-of-the-ordinary is your bathroom or powder room. I love it when you open the door to a powder room and find something unexpected – like deep purple paint. A charming theme or object works well too. If you have been following this blog you know I am a fan of flowers. My last post was devoted to them. Flowers are a perfect antidote to a tired bathroom and so is a good-looking vase with some dried branches.
I used the Kouboo mango wood vase with a pewter leaf in a recent photo shoot. This is the exact opposite approach to using whimsy and humor: it is adding an elegance that is handsome enough for a man’s bathroom.
