Using an odd number of pendants in the room is more common to establish a focal point and a sense of balance. Still, the recommended number of pendant lights depends on the pendant's size, diameter, and placement in your house and the chosen room. 

One pendant light can be sufficient if hung freely in the foyer, living room, above a bedroom nightstand, or in another room. For dining tables and kitchen or bar counters, a good rule is to use two pendant lights if the space is shorter than 6 feet and three pendants if it is longer. Take into consideration the following when deciding on pendant spacing:

• Even distribution of light
• Safe clearance from any edges
• Visually appealing aesthetic.

Have at least as much space between the pendant light's widest points as the width of the pendant itself while keeping in mind 18 inches as the minimum, regardless of size. Also, ensure you leave at least half the pendant diameter at both ends of the space you hang them over. All our pendant lamps are hardwired, meaning the electric cord needs to connect to the wires/junction box in your ceiling. The lamp comes with a canopy that will cover the junction box in your ceiling. If you need the cord plugged in, any licensed electrician can add a plug at the end of the cord.

Yes, they can. Mind you, the ability to dim is not a function of the lamp but your switch on the wall and the light bulb you insert. Most bulbs are dimmable, with the exception of fluorescent and certain types of LED bulbs, so pay attention to what kind of bulb you use.

All our lamps are made with UL-certified electric hardware, and the majority are UL listed—not only are the electric components UL but the entire assembly is approved by UL. These lamps have a silver, holographic UL sticker.

Yes, they can. The ceiling plate of the lamp connects with the junction box in your ceiling, and gravity will ensure your lamp hangs vertically.
