INSIDE OUT OR OUTSIDE IN FOR HOME DECOR!!

June 30, 2019

Outdoor living comes inside your home and vice versa ~

Many moons ago when I was a young girl…our outdoor living rooms were called a screened-in-porch!  Yikes, I’m dating myself once again.  The second greatest outdoor space (in my childhood memories) was the treehouse next door in my neighbor’s humongous Sycamore tree!  I’ve always loved being outdoors whether it was riding bikes, climbing trees or riding horses so it shouldn’t surprise you that creating a home environment mirroring the outdoors is as much a part of me as breathing!!

The imagination knows no boundaries as you will see from the fabulous photos and designs below.  I envy the creativity of the designers and architects who so brilliantly executed the desire to bring the indoors outside…and the outside (Mother Nature) indoors!  I could live in every single one of these amazing spaces and the smile on my face would never leave… Enjoy my discoveries!  🌲🌞

We typically see beautiful outdoor living rooms but how often do we see a spectacular indoor “room with a view” like this one?  Talk about “thinking outside the box”!  Photo: Found on Pinterest

Outdoor rooms are becoming more and more popular.  They not only provide a cozy “living room” area in nature but they also expand the square footage of actual living space.  The horizontal slatted wall and canopy provide a privacy screen as well as a sun screen in addition to adding a design element. This massive outdoor room feels warm and inviting due to the many natural elements used such as the wood ceiling (an extension from the indoors) along with natural stone which has been used throughout the home for a cohesive design. Add a geodome structure to your home and you’ll not only have your own greenhouse (if desired) but you’ll have a 4 season room which allows you to feel as though you are basking in the outdoors! Photo: Riverside Tool and Dye
